Kenji Kimura, in a new interview, has expressed his hopes of continuing the story of the ghoulish game once "things calm down a bit". Ghostwire: Tokyo is a first-person action-horror romp that takes place in an eerily empty Tokyo after a mysterious fog swallows all of the city's residents except for the player character, who gains the supernatural powers of KK, the spirit of a former cop. Our 3.5/5-star review praises the unique setup, gorgeous world, and immaculate vibes but takes points off for repetition and a shallow combat system. Ghostwire: Tokyo released in March of this year, offering up a sprawling rendition of Tokyo for players to explore. It went heavy on the horror, and featured its own melee combat system. In our 3-star review of the game, we said: “If you have the will to tune out the endless open world guff, what you’ll find here is a satisfying single-player experience that nods at the spiritual while offering a deep dive into Japanese culture, both modern and historic.” Kimura has previously said he was not opposed to making DLC back in March to Wccftech, but now it looks like new games are also potentially on the cards. Without spoiling too much of the story of Ghostwire, the ending of the game is pretty final. If there were to be sequels I'd be rooting for a new protagonist and a city, maybe Kyoto for example.
