Concantenated Clips and Sequences Has anyone had any luck creating concantenated clips with timecodes that match the concantenated sequence? I can set the sequence timecode no problem. With our workflow, we don't keep that sequence, just the clip it creates. The starting timecode on that clip is invariably the starting timecode of the first clip ingested. I know it can be done, as we did it when the techs from Avid were showing us the workflow. Alas, they can't remember the settings they used, and all manner of experimentation on my part and our engineers has failed to yield results. Kevin Strong CBS Denver |

Timecode when creating concatenated clips There is no way to have timecode breaks within a clip in an Avid system. Avid clips only have one timecode that is assigned to the first frame of the master clip. Every frame's timecode there after is computed from the first frame + n-frames. When you use AutoIngest to concatenate clips we do have the option to lay down locators (at the clip seams) that have the timecode of the original clip, this is useful for reference. But is not used in a sequence. |
